No.3 is definaenlt the most opertunistic of the five points. Its is then you are aware, observant and taking all the information in to use later.

I agree with Beth that you get out what you put in as far as serendipity is concerned. Bur the trouble is, organisations often see you 'wasting' time but do not recognise the benefits.
